Alumni Spotlight: Erin Pesut
by Writing Workshops Staff
Today, we're catching up with Erin Pesut, who attended Amber Sparks' Fractured Narrative workshop.
"I loved the time we spent writing in Amber's class," Erin said. "It was wonderful to come together during the pandemic and hear people share their work in real-time. One of the pieces I wrote ended up being published in Poetry South."
Erin is the former editor-in-chief of CityView Magazine and an MFA graduate of Columbia University.
Although Erin studied fiction, she is focusing on writing more essays and poems right now. Her short term goals are to continue to write and submit and publish work and her long term goals are to secure an agent, attend a writing residency at MacDowell, and publish a book!
Erin's work has appeared on Vermont Public Radio and in HeartWood Literary Magazine, Legacy Magazine, TAILOR Magazine, The Peal, Owl & Spade, and Classifieds: An Anthology of Prose Poems (Equinox Publishing). Erin's writing has also been shortlisted for The Masters Review "Anthology X,” a finalist for CRAFT’s inaugural nonfiction award, The Adrift Short Story Competition through Driftwood Press, the Southern Writers Symposium, and a semi-finalist for Boulevard Magazine’s nonfiction contest. She has also received funding through the Southern Vermont Young Professionals and the North Carolina Arts Council.
We're rooting for you, Erin! Thank you for letting us be part of your writing journey.
