Bookends is a non-credit intensive to help writers turn their full-length manuscripts into polished form. It entails one novel/one mentor/one year – with option of financial assistance based on need. As a BookEnds fellow, you’ll spend a year writing, revising, and editing your manuscript alongside a small cohort of talented fiction writers with promising novel drafts. You’ll dive deep into your characters’ worlds using the unique BookEnds methodology and interrogatory techniques, with mentors such as Meg Wolitzer, Christina Baker Kline, Karen E. Bender and Paul Harding to guide you along the way.
Educators Making a Difference Grants

Educators Making a Difference Grants are for educators who believe in the importance of incorporating diverse books by diverse authors into their schools, libraries, and educational organizations. Grants provide up to $2000 per recipient and can be used toward buying diverse titles, hosting diversity-focused student or community events, or any other project that supports diverse literature.
Miami Book Fair’s Emerging Writer Fellowships

Emerging Writer fellows are granted professional experience in arts administration, teaching creative writing, and other opportunities; a $41,000 stipend; and strong literary community support to allow for 12 glorious months of uninterrupted time to craft their works.
Sustainable Arts Foundation Individual Award (for parent writers)

Awards of $5,000 each will be given to twenty artists and writers with children. To be eligible, the applicant must have at least one child under the age of 18. Parents of older children with a disability or special needs may also be eligible. Artists and writers with at least one child under the age of 18 and a strong portfolio are welcome to apply.
Whole Novel Historical: A Virtual Course for Historical Novelists

The Whole Novel Workshop offers writers the opportunity to have an entire draft of a novel (up to 80K words) read with written feedback provided. Sessions are dedicated to: planning a revision, writing historical fiction as a contemporary author, confronting writer’s block, submissions, and building a supportive network of writers. The course will run from April 24 – June 16, 2022.
