Congratulations to Chaitali Sen! She is the winner of the 2021 Mary McCarthy Prize in Short Fiction, selected by Danielle Evans. Chaitali is a recent graduate of our short fiction mentorship with Morgan Talty and we could not be more happy for her!

We are also proud to announce that A NEW RACE OF MEN FROM HEAVEN by Chaitali Sen is the 2021 winner of the Mary McCarthy Prize in Short Fiction, selected by Danielle Evans!
Chaitali Sen is the author of the novel THE PATHLESS SKY, and her short fiction and non-fiction works have appeared in Boulevard, Catapult, Colorado Review, Ecotone, Electric Literature, Literary Hub, Los Angeles Review of Books, New England Review, Shenandoah, and elsewhere. Born in India and raised in the U.S., she currently lives in Texas with her family. She holds an M.F.A. from Hunter College and is the founder of the Austin-based interview series "Borderless: Conversations in Art, Action, and Justice."
