Ethan Joella is the author of the novels A Little Hope (Scribner, 2021), which was a Read with Jenna Bonus Selection, A Quiet Life (Scribner, 2022), and The Same Bright Stars (Scribner, 2024). His books have been featured in The New York Times, People, and Good Housekeeping.  Ethan teaches English and psychology at the University of Delaware and specializes in community writing workshops. He lives in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, with his family.

Have you been poring over the same piece nonstop and need a break? Do you have a new idea but aren’t sure how to get started with it? Are you just generally looking for new approaches or inspiration? Then this one-day workshop is for you.

In this class, we’ll do a series of prompts to help you get out of your groove and get started on something fresh.

We’ll discuss issues such as where to begin and end the piece and how to achieve transparency and momentum.

Writers will be invited (not required) to share work and exchange ideas. All genres welcome!
