Today, we're catching up with Eric Clayton. Eric's first book, Cannonball Moments: Telling Your Story, Deepening Your Faith, releases in March 2022 from Loyola Press. It is spiritual nonfiction, a meditation on spirituality and storytelling. Eric also recently published this reflection on his grandmother's passing in NCR.

Eric writes a lot of essays on culture, faith and everyday spirituality, including a weekly column. Right now, he is trying to break into fiction, submitting to various flash fiction magazines and working on a space opera novel.

Eric took our 8-Week Writing Spiritual Nonfiction workshop with Jonathan Malesic. Eric said that, "Jonathan did a great job taking a very ephemeral topic and making it accessible. It was also great to pick his brain on his process."

In the short term, Eric wants to improve as a fiction writer and get something published. Long term, he wants to finish his debut novel and pitch another spirituality book.

We're rooting for you, Eric! Thank you for letting us be part of your writing journey!
